Triple Helix VII is an important occasion offering a major platform for
the exchange of ideas and experiences - academics will share their
insights into the dynamics of collaboration; business and industry will
review their plans and indicate future directions; and government decision
makers, will explore new avenues for supporting developments, analysing
innovation frameworks and their impact on national and regional economies.
We hope the Conference will be of interest to you and look forward to
seeing you in Glasgow next year taking part in the Triple Helix VII
proceedings.
CALL FOR PAPERS - 'Gender Issues in Science, Technology and Innovation'
Specialist Track Gender issues in Science, Technology and Innovation are
increasingly salient to achieve the objective of maximising the
utilization of human capital for building the Knowledge Society. They have
grown in importance and expanded in recent years, as science has become an
increasingly significant pillar of knowledge-based economies. This
specialist track aims to explore the state-of-the-art in research on the
interface between gender, science and the economy based on studies and
analyses of scholars, practitioners, policy-makers and entrepreneurs
around the world, thus placing the conference theme into a global context.
Topics:
1. Participation and advancement of women in traditional and emerging
science-related professions. 2. Women and men's position in Science,
Technology and Innovation professions: is it a matter of culture, social
structure or individual agency? 3. New hybrid occupations at the
intersection of science and business, public policy, media, etc. 4. Work/
life balance in traditional and emerging science-related
professions.
Closing Date for Abstract Submission: 28 November 2008, 5.00 pm GMT.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Authors are invited to submit Extended Abstracts based on the following
guidelines:
§ The Abstract should be of a maximum length of two
single-spaced A-4 pages, including figures and references. §
The title of the Abstract should appear at the top of the paper. §
The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) should NOT
appear anywhere in the Abstract, but should be specified in the covering
letter. § Immediately below the title of the Abstract,
please indicate only TWO choices from the Conference Themes and Specialist
Tracks, (if applicable), given above. § If the selected
theme is "Other", a proposed topic should be provided. §
The Abstract should be in Microsoft Word format (.doc) §
The Abstract should be submitted through the online submission
system<http://www.triple-helix-7.org/abstract-submission.asp> on the
Conference website. § Triple Helix VII will not consider
more than two papers from individuals as authors or co-authors. §
Abstracts must be submitted by 28 November 2008.
