We are presently searching for SPEAKERS for the Conference: EFFECTIVE
USE OF ICTS FOR DISASTER MANAGEMENT – MAURITIUS. Please indicate to us

Project title: Conference: EFFECTIVE USE OF ICTS FOR DISASTER
MANAGEMENT – MAURITIUS [3rd to 5th March 2009]
Application deadline: Monday 16th February 2009
Contract duration: 4 man-days of total input

Objectives of the Assignment: RICTSP is assisting the Mauritian ICT
Authority (Regulator) with this conference. We are searching for:
1 speaker for session 2: Role of Policy Makers for the Effective Use
of ICTs for Disaster Management: Best practices and guidance from
developed countries
1 speaker for session 3: Compliance with international obligations
(Eg.Tampere) and/or Best practices, examples and guidance from
developed countries
1 speaker for session 5: Mitigation
1 speaker for session 7: Recovery and reconstruction
Activities and tasks of the Assignment: One day of paper preparation +
3 days participation in the actual conference.
Expected Results: High-level presentation and back-ground paper
Location of the Assignment: Mauritius
Input of days: 4 man-days (per diems during travel)
Language: English
Skills/Competences/Qualifications: Expert in the given field of
presentation, and proof thereof.
Eligibility (who can apply?): EU citizens and COMESA citizens from:
Angola, Burundi, DR Congo, Malawi, Rwanda, Swaziland, Zambia,
Zimbabwe, Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Kenya, Tanzania,
Uganda, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, and Sudan AND citizens
